Shanna Reece has spent the last 18 years serving non-profit and governmental agencies throughout Greensboro, North Carolina. She has assisted these entities with program development, implementation and analysis of needs assessments, program evaluation, partnership development and grant writing. Over her career, Shanna has successfully written over $12 million dollars in grant funding for non-profit and government agencies throughout North Carolina.
Currently, Shanna serves as the Executive Director of The Servant Center where she manages six programs, is a member of the Stand Down Committee and serves on the Nonprofit Management Advisory Board for UNCG’s MPA program. She is also a leader in the formation of a new Veterans Coalition in Guilford County, The Triad Veteran and Military Resource Coalition .
Shanna earned a Master’s degree in Public Affairs from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1995 and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Western Carolina University. In 2013 Shanna graduated from the Center for Creative Leadership’s Executive Director’s Academy.
Shanna lives in Greensboro, NC with her husband and two children.
Teresa is from the little town of Julian, NC. She has over 20 years of accounting and office management experience. She is married to her best friend, Tim Smith. Together they have 3 strapping adult sons, one of whom is currently in the Army National Guard, having formerly served on a 12 month tour of deployment in Afghanistan.
Teresa is active in her local church and desires to serve God with all heart. She loves people, spending time with family and gardening. She even brings beautiful floral arrangements to work, making our waiting area at The Servant Center look like a picture from a magazine.
Teresa's favorite quote is by an unknown author, "God has given me this day to use as I see fit. I can waste it or grow in its light and be of service to others. But what I do with this day is important because I have exchanged a day of my life for it. When tomorrow comes, today will be gone forever. I hope I do not regret the price I paid for it."
The job of facilities manager is never easy but Fred has been doing that and so much more for The Servant Center since 2007. Fred keeps up the grounds, the apartments, the offices, Servant House and so much more. Fred ensures everything is in working order and everything runs smoothly. He also serves on the board for The Servant Center. Fred’s first experience with The Servant Center was in 2005 when he became a resident at Servant House.
During his off time Fred is the President and CEO of Backboard to Backboard Officiating where he referees basketball games. Fred is also a proud Veteran of the Air Force where he was a radar operator. He is happily married to his wife Gloria.
Julie graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2008 with her Bachelor's degree in Social Work, and from George Mason University in 2010 with her Master's degree in Social Work with an emphasis in public policy. She served as an AmeriCorps member through DC LEARNs with the Literacy AmeriCorps from 2008-2009, where she taught adult basic education and GED classes in Washington, DC.
While in DC, Julie also worked as a Public Policy Associate with the Suicide Prevention Action Network USA, the policy division of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Her passion for AmeriCorps drew her back to DC LEARNS as a director for the AmeriCorps program she previously served with. Julie and her husband William returned to their hometown of Greensboro in 2011.
After assisting in running United Way's annual campaign in 2012, she was hired as the Director of the AmeriCorps Partnership to End Homelessness. Julie continues her passion for national service in this position.

Stacey Kyser recently relocated to Greensboro from the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. There, she spent the last 13 years working in marketing and development for Tribune Media Company, The College of William & Mary, The Catholic Diocese of Richmond, and as a private consultant. In addition to her expertise in marketing and resource development, she is always willing to jump in and take on graphic design, copy-writing, and event coordination. Stacey attended Virginia Commonwealth University and is a public relations management and strategic planning guru. She lives in Greensboro with her husband and 3 children.
Symone graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in 2013 with a bachelors in psychology.
She served as an AmeriCorps member from 2012-2014 where she served as a disability counselor and a case manager. Symone joined the Servant Center in October 2014 as a permanent housing case manager. Symone assists clients in transitioning out of The Servant House into permanent housing.
In her free time Symone enjoys traveling worldwide and spending time with her family.

Horace is the Resident Assistant for Servant House. He lives upstairs at Servant House and is available to residents in the evenings and throughout the night. Before becoming the Resident Assistant, Horace was a resident at Servant House and graduated from the progam in July of 2016.
